The forgotten word in many churches today is SACRIFICE. We don’t want to hear it, we run away from those who mention it and disregard those who teach it. The only time we want to hear sacrifice is when the preacher tells about the cross and what Jesus did for us. We forget that the Lord clearly demanded sacrifice of His apostles. The early church was built on the sacrifices of many believers who understood its power. I am not talking about a lamb on the altar but a lifestyle that forfeits much in order to gain more. God will require your sacrifice on a regular basis. Your family, business and development will require that you sacrifice something now and then. Going to the next level will demand some sort of sacrifice. Unleashing your potential requires that you sacrifice something. What sacrifice do you need? Is it two hours of sleep? Is it a bunch of friends? Is it a sport? Put something on the altar of God so you can unleash your destiny.
SCRIPTURE READING: ROMANS 12:1-2
I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is, what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.
Dear God, thank you for your ultimate sacrifice on the cross for me. Now grant me the faith and courage to live a sacrificial life. May I be that living sacrifice that will lay down everything for your kingdom. Teach me to sacrifice for my family, business, church and nation in Jesus’ name. Amen
