Money Matters

Money has governing principles that will make or break you financially. Understanding these principles and applying them will position you to thrive regardless of the environment around. Ignorance of these money matters sets you up for failure and defeat. I know it is easier to blame your past, the government or even the devil. Yet many times we don’t make progress because we are breaking all the principles of proper money management. So let’s go out of our way to apply ourselves to the principles that matter to money. The rules for basketball don’t apply in football. Dunking the football is going to earn you a yellow card and an eventual dismissal.  Mastering the rules and skills for one sport doesn’t mean you can play all sports that involve a whistle and a ball. The same is true about money matters. Just because you have mastered prayer, preaching, family and friendship it doesn’t mean you have mastered money. Yes, there will be some correlations but you must go out of your way to master money matters. Apply yourself to the principles and you will thrive. Your financial struggles are a revelation that you are missing out on some principles. What are you missing out? How can you better yourself financially? Money matters must be mastered.

SCRIPTURE READING: PROVERBS 19:7-8 All the relatives of a poor person shun him—how much more do his friends avoid him! Though he runs after them pleading, they aren’t around. Whoever obtains wisdom loves himself, and whoever treasures understanding will prosper.

Dear God, thank you for grace and strength to acquire wisdom. May I get a hold of the godly principles that make a difference in money. Open my heart and my eyes to the issues that matter to money. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
