The Genesis account of the creation of woman is simply beautiful. The man has been placed in the garden to do his thing but along the way, he realises he needs some urgent help. Obviously, God knew that man would need the help but he didn’t bring the woman before the man realised that he needed this kind of help. So when Adam realised he couldn’t do life alone, God ushers in the missing part, Eve. He makes her debut on the scene as the helper. She is not the watcher, the linesman or even the referee. She comes on as an integral part of the team. She is the trusted sidekick in this action flick. She is highly capable in her own right as a player but she is blessed to be part of a team. Men, don’t sidetrack or sidestep your sidekick. Let her be at the centre of the action making things happen.
In our generation, the woman has been emancipated from the bedroom to the boardroom as an achiever in both rooms. She is capable of being both beautiful and brutal. Her husband loves her and so does the competition. Yes, they act like they loathe her but in actual reality they love her. Who wouldn’t want to have a woman like her? Her tender hands are hard enough to get the job done after they cradle the baby to bed. The bountiful beauty of her heart is seen in her capacity to be both the lion and the lamb. Don’t get confused by her cat-like meows as she walks as the lamb or you will get a rude awakening when you hear her roar as the lion she also is. That’s why she is content to be the helper. Ladies give your man all the help he can use. Get a job and bring home some money. Do business, save, invest and command big money. Your marriage will be more stable, your man will be grateful and your life will be more meaningful. You are a delicate design, a hybrid of sorts that can seamlessly slip out of your kitchen apron into a professional uniform. You are more than you know. So don’t let the world limit you. Soar above the expectations and fly.
SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 2:18-23
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground, the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam, there was not found a helpmate for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.
Dear God, thank you for every woman in my life. May they go from strength to strength. Let them arise as mighty helpmates and outstanding blessings. Let them super flourish in all they do. In Jesus’ name. Amen
