I love multitasking while I am outside the office. I will do whatever can be done while I am in between meetings and engagements. With so much time spent in traffic, at airports, between meetings, I have learnt to make the most of those times by praying on the go. You don’t always have to be seated in a chapel or your closet to get away and pray. As you are hustling through the highways and fast lanes of life, you can squeeze some prayer time into those waiting times. Most modern cities give you at least one hour of traffic every day. Many will give you two or three hours in a car going nowhere. That is the perfect time to pray in between. Learn to get away from all the chaos and get into the realm of the spirit and pray. Don’t just sit there wondering what you could do with yourself. Reach out to God in prayer.
One hour of “in between prayer time” everyday amounts to 30 hours every month. That would not be bad at all seeing we can hardly sit still these days. So don’t hold yourself up in the name of waiting for the perfect time to pray. Don’t even wait because you don’t have enough time to pray. Get going during those in-between times and crank up your spirit. Release the power of prayer wherever you are. On the road, the plane, a bus or a cruise ship. Make something of your in-between time. Every in-between minute should be dedicated to God in prayer. You will be amazed how much in-between time you have on your hands.
SCRIPTURE READING: MATHEW 7:7-11
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone; or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Dear God, I dedicate myself to you. Let every moment of my life count for you. Reach forth and empower me to maximize every day for your glory. Even those moments that many take for granted, may they be of value in prayer. Give me moments every day to commune with you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
