Daily Devotion

It is wonderful to start a project but even better to finish it. But the journey from the beginning to the end can be so varied that many don’t make it. The gap between here and there must be embraced and dealt with accordingly. Many don’t complete the objective because they give up along the way. Challenges come along the way and throw them off balance that they lay the vision down, choosing to be sidelined and taken off track. Through the pains and pangs of growth to the place of total victory, you must press on towards the mark you have in mind. Push through the obstacles, the temptations and all road blocks ahead of you.
It’s not enough to just pray. There are times you must pray a matter through. Don’t relax and call a victory while the battle is still ragging. Pray through the storm into the calm. Pray through the resistance till you embrace victory. Pray through that attack of the enemy till you touch your breakthrough. Stick to your guns and stand your ground in the Lord. Pray until something happens. Your victory is the objective. Your healing, deliverance and breakthrough is the goal. You are believing God for that specific breakthrough. So stick to your prayer axe till you smell and taste the sweat joy of victory.

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Dear God, you are my glory and the lifter of my head. Strengthen me to pray through the seasons of life. May I not be a floppy twig thrown back and forth. Let me be steadfast in you and in your grace to stand strong and pray through the challenges of the day. Holy Spirit empower and quicken me to go the whole distance in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
