One of the greatest blessings for the believer is the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This takes you to another league altogether. It empowers you, emboldens you, transforms you and quickens you to another dimension. Living a spiritual life is impossible without the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Praying in tongues is a direct result of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This gift has revolutionized millions of lives since the day of Pentecost. The early church was fuelled by the gift of the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues. Your life can never be the same again if you embrace praying in tongues every day.
Praying in the spirit also called praying in tongues should be part of your daily life. Find time each day to drift into the Spirit, praying in tongues. Get away from the chaos of the grind and allow the Spirit of God inside you to take charge of your spirit and declare the things of God, in the power of God, to be manifest in your world. These are the times when God takes your tongue and uses it to decree and create the environment of God around you. Don’t just pray in your understanding. Pray in the spirit. Don’t just pray in your ability, pray in the spirit. Don’t just pray in your limited vocabulary, pray in the spirit. Go beyond yourself into the realms of God and pray in the power of the Spirit of God. And if you don’t have the gift of the Holy Spirit yet, simply make it the desire and passion of your life, and seek God to give you the infilling of His spirit.
SCRIPTURE READING: ACTS 2:1-8
When the day of Pentecost was being celebrated, all of them were together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like the roar of a mighty windstorm came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated, and one rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them that ability. Now devout Jews from every nation were living in Jerusalem. When that sound came, a crowd quickly gathered, startled because each one heard the disciples speaking in his own language. Stunned and amazed, they asked, “All of these people who are speaking are Galileans, aren’t they? So how is it that each one of us hears them speaking in his own native language?
Dear God, Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I surrender to your purpose and seek your Spirit. Grant me your Spirit and fill me to overflow. Lead me each day to pray in the Spirit and fulfill your purpose for my life. May I go beyond myself into your Spirit and live each day empowered by you. I dedicate myself to daily pray in your spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen
