Going up a skyscraper in an elevator is basically being able to make a one hour journey in one minute. You get into this tube, press a button or two and stand there as the tube gets you to your destination. The alternative is to painstakingly walk up each floor, take a rest when you are exhausted and just keep grinding up those stairs. Some people actually can’t make it all the way to the top, while those who manage would be absolutely spent.
God is our super elevator. With Him we can do more, go further, climb higher and stand longer than we would in our own power. The grace of God is available for all His children to live the Christian life with outstanding results. It’s not about your ability but the grace of God working in your life. Yes you have to be willing and to offer yourself to the Lord. You will have to get going and do your part. I am not saying you should simply do nothing and expect God to do it all, but rather after you have done what you can, God comes through to quicken you so you can do more than you are able to do in your own power.
God is able to give you more from whatever little you have. Your limited funds can change the world. Your two minute prayer can save a soul. Your faithful giving, however little, can change a nation. Your five minute prayer can bring transformation. Your mortal life can bring eternal life to millions. You will get more from less. The grace of God is sufficient for you.
SCRIPTURE READING: Mark 6:35-44
Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all. So they all ate and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish. Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.
Dear God, I believe that in you I can do more, go further, climb higher and stand longer. Father quicken me to do more in your power. Multiply my little time, limited funds, prayer sessions and my faithful giving in Jesus’ Name. Amen
