Waiting for an elevator can be a frustration proposition. You have to wait and are tempted to take the alternative; stairs. But you are also aware that the elevator would certainly get you to your destination with ease and style. So you weigh the wait in regard to how many floors you have to travel. If you have a really long way up to go, the stairs are not an option. So you patiently wait for the one option you have chosen to trust. The elevator.
Waiting on God is a faith patience thing. You must choose to ignore the other options and stick to the God option. You want to get going right away yet you have to wait. So you close your eyes and heart to the quick fix options on the table and simply wait. You may be waiting alone or with others but still you wait. The choice is simple yet can be very complicated. Wait upon the Lord.
SCRIPTURE READING: HEBREWS 10:35-36
Do not lose your courage, then, because it brings with it a great reward. You need to be patient, in order to do the will of God and receive what he promises.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Loving father, I thank you because you’re teaching me to wait on you. I choose to ignore other options and stick to your option, Lord. May I be courageous and patient to your will so as to receive what you have promised in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
