The River Nile is the longest in the world and one of the most dangerous. Flowing north through five nations, it embarks on a life giving journey to all in its path. Back in high school, we had an annual challenge to swim across the Nile. This was a gruelling task that took at least four hours because of the strong current in the river. The swim was very complicated it would change from the simple 10 mile hop to the other side and end up being a 50 mile event. Many failed to meet the challenge in spite of their skill and physical capacity. The secret to success was going with the flow. You simply had to let the river take you where you wanted to go. Anything less than that would be futile.
God has got a flow to what He is working in your life today. He is working around you in a special way. Simply identify and surrender to the flow. Give yourself to the flow of the river of God and He will take you places you never thought possible. It’s not about your ability or skill level but all about the flow of the river of God. The river is surely greater than you are so simply surrender to it. Go with the flow and you will go farther with less effort. Let your eye be skilled at reading the river so you can simply get into the flow.
SCRIPTURE READING: John 5:1-9
The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, I thank you because am going with the flow that you’re working in my life. I believe you’re taking me places I never thought possible in Jesus’ name. Amen
