Charity begins at home. Ministry should begin in your spiritual home, the local church. This is your place for renewal, refreshment, encouragement and empowerment. Serving here positions you to really tap into the core of the ministry. It is hard to handle water and not get wet. Getting into the depth of ministry exposes you to what the Lord is doing. Going into a church service will get you serviced so you can serve.
Serve the Lord wherever he has placed you. You are an ambassador of the king everywhere you go. At your work place, your school, home and even in between places. You are a light that can’t be hidden. This Jesus light does have an off switch and you are that light. Use every opportunity you get to advance the kingdom and point someone to the cross of Jesus.
SCRIPTURE READING: Colossians 3:18-24
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God; And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Dear God, I thank you because I serve you where you have placed me. I believe that going to church has serviced me to serve. May your grace lead me to every opportunity I’ve got to advance the kingdom and point someone to the cross in Jesus’ Name. Amen
