The work of ministry is impossible without the grace of God. Most people talk about their limitations and inabilities to serve, just like Moses told God he couldn’t speak. But the work of ministry is impossible without the grace of God even if you can speak and do everything right. God empowers you to do spiritual work by His grace. We therefore must look beyond our abilities and look at His ability. Look beyond your limitations and trust in the power of God to get the job done through you.
We must remind ourselves to depend on the grace of God even after years of experience. Refuse to be the know-it all, self-styled, pompous fellow that has it all figured. Draw on the grace of God to achieve the objectives and the goals. Tap into the grace of God to reach forth and do extra ordinary things.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Timothy 2:1-4
Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.
Dear God, I choose to depend on the grace of God and look beyond my abilities and limitations. I know in your grace I can reach forth and do extra ordinary things. I will not get tied up in the affairs of civilian life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
