Many times you hear well-meaning saints take the grace of God to the extremes. I am talking about those that refuse to take responsibility and hide behind grace. Others use grace as a license to sin. It’s like we can get away with anything because of grace. But the scriptures clearly show that grace is not a license to sin but a leash from sin. The grace of God enables you to do the good will of God. When your strength and ability fail you, the grace of God empowers you to get there. Grace takes you beyond yourself to realms where you are surprised by the power of God working through you to do His pleasure.
We must therefore allow the grace of God to work in us. You rely on and draw from the grace of God to get the strength and wisdom to get there. You look unto God as your source of all and allow his grace to work inside your heart and show you how to get there. The grace of God has never failed and it’s not going to start failing with you. Draw on the grace that is available. You can do all things through Christ that gives you strength. Think You Can!
SCRIPTURE READING: Philippians 4:10-13,
How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Dear God, I will not use your grace as a license to sin. I am relying on it to get the strength and wisdom to do your will. I am sure it will never fail me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
