Ministry work needs money to be done. Preaching the gospel and planting churches costs money. Light bills must be paid, buildings must be built and the message must be placed on the proper media to be heard. It costs money to go to the unreached. It costs money to feed the orphans and cloth the widow. Ministry is taken to the utter most ends of the earth by using money to get the job done. Money is a facilitator but not the motivator for ministry.
The saints should be active in raising funds to do the work of ministry. It should be the goal of every Christian to not only give their tithes and offerings but to also give towards missions and church planting. Your attitude towards money is that you need more of it not just for yourself but to empower the church to get the mission accomplished. Remember your money represents your life and how hard you work. Therefore where you put the majority of your money is a sign of what you hold dear to heart.
SCRIPTURE READING: Mathew 21:1-3
As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Beth phage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.”
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear Father, I am motivated by You and Your grace. I choose to serve with money as a facilitator and not a motivator for ministry. I will be active in raising funds to do the work of ministry in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
