Coming to faith, I was convinced the rapture was eminent and the return of the Lord at hand. I was convinced the Lord saved me just in time to take me to heaven. You can imagine my disappointment when the Lord seemed to tarry. It soon became clear that I was still here on the earth for a while. So the search begun as I was seeking answers and purpose on the earth. Through the scriptures I realised my salvation was not to get me out of a decadent world but rather to use me to bring Christ to the world and that I may bear much fruit. I believe this is true for every believer. You are saved by God that you may bear much fruit for the kingdom of heaven.
Every tree that is planted must grow to a place of fruitfulness. Same is true for every believer. Your growth should culminate in fruitfulness. Don’t be one of those that is ever learning but never comes to the knowledge of truth. Your growth inevitably leads to fruitfulness. It should be natural, exciting and liberating for you to bear fruit. Allow the fruit embedded inside you to come forth. Reach beyond the now and bear fruit by faith.
SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 7:17-20 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor [can] a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Loving father, am grateful for salvation. You saved me so I may be able to bear fruit in your kingdom. I believe that I have come to the knowledge of truth. May I continue to walk in this truth as I culminate fruitfulness in Jesus’ name. Amen
