The things we are serious about will not only be at the top of our wish-list but will also be at the top of our to-do-list. You target to finish school by a certain age. You target to make so much money by a certain time. Buying cars, building homes, going places and meeting people are all common targets in life. This sense of target gives you purpose, motivation and a bench mark which you use to evaluate yourself in order to refocus and make progress. In the same breath we must have targets of spiritual things we have to do in the kingdom, specifically the souls we touch.
Pray about sharing Christ with others on a daily basis. Translate that prayer into a regular target. A number that you will work towards as a matter of objective. Prepare yourself, your resources and time to work towards your target. Pray that your target is accomplished and that God will put all things in place for your targets. Regularly evaluate your targets to ensure you are making progress. Remember if you target nothing you will surely get it. How many souls are you targeting to bring to the Lord this week?
SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 10:10-15
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Dear Father, May I be focused on winning souls for you everywhere I go. I pray that you use me to draw men to you king of Glory. May your grace enable me to fulfil my targets. Amen.
