Preaching of the gospel is no doubt an honorable vocation only that the honor is from God and not man. Some have however used it to draw attention to themselves, others to get cheap popularity, others to get wealth, others out of strife and others for so many other reasons other than the actual reason which is to draw souls to God. The gospel is Not a means to an end, it is the ultimate end in itself.

Paul the apostle called it the power of God unto salvation. It should be enough to share the gospel in its simplicity to another person expecting only a reward from your actual master-God our father. God’s agenda is redemption of the world and it is ultimate, you can only co-operate with Him and not come up with another agenda within the agenda, it needs no updates.

Phil 1:15-18

Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains;  but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.  What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

Heavenly father, I thank you for the purity of your word, the simplicity of the gospel and it’s power to save. Help me oh God as I witness to others this treasure not to add my own agenda if there be any to it. Also help me to only remain single minded on the cause of redemption of souls and no other, In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
