If one was to summarize all a child is about, it would be with one word, “ME”. To many toddlers, everything should be about them, the whole world ceases to matter when they are uncomfortable, hungry or sleepy. This is also true for new born Christians; they have been born of God and as infants they need attention, affection and affirmation from God their father and the church. They usually have phrases like, “These people don’t care about, ME” ,”The don’t appreciate, ME”, “They don’t celebrate, ME”, “There is no edification for, ME”, “They don’t inspire, ME”.
There is an acceptable time for being a child and within this time God through the church nurtures a new convert. However, a time should come for a child to transition into adulthood. How long have you been an infant? Be sure not to live an adult life with an infant mind. Put away childish ways – They don’t……”ME”.
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Father in heaven I thank you for this new family, I ask that as I enjoy my childhood, I will not get so comfortable with it but will always aim at attaining full stature as your son in my world, I pray that I will gradually put away childish ways and embrace adulthood- In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
