There are three very important activities required for a child to grow; that is eating, playing and resting. Food gives the child the necessary energy and materials needed for growth, playing gets the child acquainted with his environment and during sleep is when the growth hormone is released for growth. This is also true for spiritual children.
They constantly need to feed on the balanced diet of the Word of God, need to exercise their faith in prayer and need to enter the rest of God. We grow by eating, doing and resting. Have you eaten today’s food? Have you exercised your faith today? Are you resting on Christ’s finished work? You need this to grow. Read your bible, pray every day if you want to grow.
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 2:52
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
Dear heavenly father, give me today my daily Word, help me exercise it in faith and teach me to rest in your finished work, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
