Sin is falling short of the standards of God. Righteousness is meeting those standards as a way of life. The grace of God empowers us to overcome sin and live a victorious life over the power of sin. Leading a righteous life is not going to be a result of your human effort but of the grace of God working in your life. Not meaning that you remove all human effort but rather that you depend on the strategy of God and not your own effort. This takes you from the realm of do’s and don’ts to the place of understanding the purpose of God in all things and submitting yourself to that purpose. Grace is not permission to sin but a leash from sin.
How do you draw on the righteousness of God? You submit yourself to His word and His ways. You love what he loves and hate what he hates. You get into the program of God and stay with it all the way. Do righteousness His way by depending on the guidance He gives. Yes, your natural mind will try to sneak a few things in but resist them by faith according to the word of God. God has a program of prayer, worship, the word, ministry, fasting, mentorship, discipleship and growth for you. By staying with this program you will manifest His righteousness.
SCRIPTURE READING: James 4:6-8
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Devotion Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your grace to submit myself to your word and ways. May I walk in the realm of understanding Your purpose in all things. As I continue in this walk, I believe I am manifesting righteousness. Hallelujah!
