There are times you don’t feel joyful. The situations are overwhelming and the circumstances challenging. You feel cornered and incapable of being joyful. The barn is empty and there is no promise on the horizon. The news is bleak and it appears you have reached the end of the road. Everything inside you wants to breakdown and succumb to the mood that’s been set. These are the times you give God what you don’t have.
God has commanded that you live a joyful life. Now that you don’t have that joy you must be joyful by faith. Ignore the facts and give God what you don’t have. Be joyful with a laughter even if your heart and mind are empty. Choose to rejoice in the Lord by faith because now you really need faith. It doesn’t make sense to your emotions or your mind. But it will make perfect sense to your heart and your spirit. It goes hand in hand with the sacrifice of praise. You don’t feel like it but by faith you give the sacrifice of joy.
SCRIPTURE READING: Jeremiah 33:11
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: ” Praise the LORD of hosts, For the LORD [is] good, For His mercy [endures] forever”— [and]of those [who will] bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the LORD.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Father you said “The just shall live by faith” so am going to rejoice by faith in Christ Jesus. Father I believe you are filling my heart with great Joy every day no matter what the situation looks like in Jesus’ name, Amen.
