Daily Devotion

People that have nothing to do end up having lots of free time on their hands. This redundancy creates an inactivity that can be dangerous. I am talking about being lost because you have nothing going on. When you have no reason to get up out of your bed and get going into the world on a daily basis and do something of value, you eventually lose direction and joy. Lazy people are never happy. Joyful people can’t stay lazy. The lack of valuable activity means misery and complaints. This redundancy gives the devil the opportunity to confuse and confound you.

Continue in your joy by staying busy with life. Get going every day and do the things you love to do. Refuse to be cornered by inactivity. If you have no job, volunteer. Get a hobby and keep doing it every day. Plan your day out with activities that will get you busy doing something for someone else instead of meditating on what is going wrong in your life. Don’t waste your time thinking about what others should do for you. Spend your energy doing something you enjoy and stay busy with life.  That is joy beyond the misery of inactivity.

Devotion Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the work you have given me. I thank you because you are working in me both to will and to do according to your good purpose. May I never get lazy and let inactivity steal my Joy in Jesus’ name, Amen
