The perspective that anyone has about someone or something very much determines their experience with that person or that particular thing. That is why a glass may be viewed as half full or half empty depending on the beholder’s perspective. The same is true about our perspective of God. That is why we have been given His Word to be the lamp to our feet and a light to our path. In the book of James God’s Word is also referred to as our mirror. A mirror is not a thing you look into once in a while but at least once or twice in a day, for men, and several times for ladies; let alone carrying one in their bags and purses. This shows us the importance of perspective.
God wants us as His children to go beyond just hearing and knowing about Him, but to come to a place of hearing His voice and knowing Him. This personal knowledge of God our Father will keep us safe from falsehood and deception. Jesus Himself said, His sheep know His voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. A biblical perspective of God causes us to walk in the fullness of the potential that God has placed in our lives. This is what changed David from a shepherd boy to the King of Israel, Gideon from a coward to a deliverer and a judge over Israel. May we become so in tune with God and His Word that we are able to discern His voice and walk in step and tune with His Spirit. When you have a proper perspective of God you can smile at the storms of life because you are not facing them alone.

Father I thank you for your Word. I pray that as I read and study it you will open unto me the secrets of your Kingdom that are in your Word in Jesus Name, Amen.
