The birth of Jesus was an excellent way for God to tell us that all is well. Christ the messiah, the son of God, born in a humble manger among cattle, sheep and goats. Surely He could have been born in the best hotel and city of the world. Yet here he was in at the unknown and forgotten side of life where not much seems to happen. God was simply saying to us all. It is well!
Your situation shouldn’t define you. Your background or past shouldn’t hold you back. Life not happening according to the script shouldn’t discourage you. It is well. If it was well for Jesus to leave the heavenly streets paved with gold to be born in the lowest among lowly man, then surely it is well with you. Don’t panic, don’t fret and don’t be overwhelmed. All is well. Especially when it doesn’t seem so well, God is in control.
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 2:1-7 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh God! My background and my past don’t define me. Am grateful because every day you remind me that, all is well. I choose to live a joyful life in Jesus’ name. Amen
