It was my son’s sixth birthday and he had recently appreciated the meaning of birthday parties. Excited about the day he begun to plan, prepare and worry about the celebration. He had a list of things to do, places to go and people to see. As the day drew near, he was super stressed about it trying to comprehend the whole thing with His little mind. Obviously daddy had figured out the whole day in the midst of the whole week. I told him that everything would be perfect but he just couldn’t comprehend it all seeing how relaxed I was about it. So the little man overwhelmed when everything went better than planned. The cake, ice cream, music, friends, presents and much more. It was far beyond his worrying imagination.
Many times we are like that little boy when it comes to God. We forget that He is God all by Himself and far able to do more than you could imagine. We panic, worry and get worked up about things the Lord has taken care of. God didn’t tell us to understand it all and make it happen. He doesn’t tell you to stay up all year to remind Him about His promises! Just like the little child trusts daddy, we must trust the Lord. He simply tells us to trust and obey.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Loving Father, my trust is in You. I lean not on my own understanding and in all my ways I acknowledge You for direct my paths. Hallelujah!
