Elijah the prophet declared the end of a famine in Israel. He commanded the king to go rejoice and feast. The false prophets had been executed and the kingdom of God was on the rise. Elijah prophesied an abundant rain after three years of drought. He went up the mountain and begun to command the rain to descend. Having felt that the answer was on its way, he commanded his servant to go check and see what the weather looked like. The young man returned a negative report. Elijah did not give up but continued doing what he was doing and told the young man to go check it out again. This went on for hours till the seventh time when the young man brought a positive report of a little cloud forming over the sea.

In the same way, I want to send you back to doing the will of God until you see the results you are looking for. Don’t give up and shut down. Don’t close your shop and ship out of town. Stay with that God given program till you see results. Delays may occur but that doesn’t mean you are denied. 2019 is a great year for you to go back to what had not worked in the past and trust God to breakthrough it. I know you got frustrated but now is the time to dust off all the chaos and disappointments so you can walk into your destiny. It may take seven times, but stick to the program till it works.

SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Kings 18:41-46

Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!” So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees. Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.” The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!'” And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel. Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Wonderful Lord, I choose to go back to do Your will until I see the results am looking for. Am staying with the God given program until I see results. 2019, am going back to what had not worked in the past trusting God for a breakthrough. No more disappointments and delays in Jesus’ name. Amen
