Today we live in a world that is instant, fast food, fast tea, fast-internet that some valuable virtues like patience have lost meaning. While efficiency and effectiveness are qualities that must be appreciated and adhered to, it is important to understand that patience is a Christian virtue that we cannot do without. Just like a patient who goes to see the doctor and has to wait to be attended to, we have to develop the virtue of patience. Patience is described as endurance or steadfastness. It can also be defined as stickablity to the task at hand. Many times we give up when the critical moment we have been waiting for is right at the doorstep just because we lost our patience. We must learn to add patience to our faith for us to turn the promises God gives us into reality. Let us develop the patience or steadfastness that we need to see the supernatural harvest of God come into our lives.
Hebrews 6: 12 That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Father in heaven, thank you for this season of supernatural harvest. I pray that you will help me by your Spirit to develop the patience, endurance and steadfastness that is needed to bring in the supernatural harvest you have brought us into in Jesus Name, Amen.
