While we live in a world that focuses on self and self-centred ways, we as believers are called to live selflessly as we serve our Lord and strive to be a blessing to His Church. That is why when Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength as the first and greatest and the second being loving your neighbour as you love yourself.” This means being mindful of the fact that we belong and are part of God’s family. It also involves being a blessing to our local church and fellow believers. If all of us as believers did often ask ourselves how we could be a blessing to our brothers and sisters, then go ahead and act as God enables us, the world would be different. Now is the time for us to take action. Take the step to do an act of kindness motivated by the love of God and not because you expect a repayment.
2 Peter 1: 7 To godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
Heavenly Father, I pray that you open my eyes to see opportunities you bring my way to share acts of kindness to humanity especially to my brothers and sisters in Christ. Grant me the grace and boldness to do so in Jesus Name, Amen
