It is possible to lose your way as you make your God-given vision a reality, you may be attacked or you may be at the end of a season looking for new direction from God. Signs of a blurred vision include: Chaos, loss of resources, struggle, hopelessness and even depression. The devil will attack you when you leave your path. On the other hand, there is an anointing for your success and protection within your mandate.
The prophet Elijah was attacked when his mandate for a season ended. He was commanded to speak a famine into existence and sustain that dry spell for three and a half years, until he dealt with the demonic prophets of Baal. The Bible says he got a threat from Jezebel after that. That threat spiraled him into discouragement, depression and confusion.
Elijah waited on God and got a new word that led him into a new season for mentoring and establishment of institutions. Wait on God if you are at crossroads. Waiting on God enables you to hear God afresh and to get new strength. God always releases a fresh inspired word to open your eyes, lead you and sustain you for the journey.
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Kings 19.3-8 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. ‘I have had enough, LORD,’ he said. ‘Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.’ Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat.’ He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.’ So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he travelled for forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Lord help me find my way where I have missed you. Give me strength for the journey. Forgive me where I have failed you. Speak to my heart about what I ought to do. Anoint me afresh. Cover me with your grace and your love.
