We all hear the stories of those who have lost a loved one and wish they had done something specific with them. They may simply be separated by distance, relationship, or circumstance. Other are separated by death. Yet time and again you hear people say they wish they had done something with that special someone. They wish they had told them how they truly felt about certain things and wish they had spent more time with them. It’s mostly after the fact that people remember the value of what they have.
I believe the gift of life must be maximised during the life time of that gift. Every day you are alive is a gift that must be utilized and maximised. There is no point in simply existing. You are not here to just occupy space. There is a purpose to your life and you must make each day count. Do what you have been created to do. Get out of your way to make life happen. Stop waiting for something to come along and sweep you into some trance. Get busy living and maximising each day.
What are you doing with your life today? Don’t simply survive but rather thrive. It’s not enough for you to be here. Do something with your life that makes a difference on the planet. Make the most of every opportunity you are given. Don’t wait for a second offer. Grab life by the horns and make each day a celebration of the fact that God has put you here.
SCRIPTURE READING: Ephesians 5:13-18
But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: ” Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord [is.] And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.
DEVOTION PRAYER: heavenly father I thank you for the gift of life. Teach me to maximize this life for I believe I have a purpose on this earth. I choose to live a life of no regrets in Jesus’ name. Amen
