James Bond in the movie “License to Kill”, is a crazy spy who has been authorised by his government to kill. He is reckless, careless, vengeful, out of control and a liability to those he encounters. His nemesis cleared notes that he is “licensed to kill or be killed”

Many Christians mistakenly think the grace of God is their license to sin. They feel they can do anything and everything because the grace of God has got them covered. They go out of their way to court trouble, throwing caution to the wind and live like there are no consequences. The grace of God is not a license for you to do whatever you feel like doing in the flesh.

The grace of God compels us to abandon our evil ways and embrace the way of the Lord. Grace strengthens you to overcome temptation and live beyond yourself. The evil things you want to do don’t have power over you. Grace empowers you to say no to evil and walk the straight and narrow road.

SCRIPTURE READING: Jude 1:3-4 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly father, am grateful for your grace that compels me to abandon evil ways and embrace the ways of God. Your grace empowers me to overcome temptations and live beyond myself.
