I had a new dog that was given to us by a good friend. We kept the dog on a leash because we are well aware of the dangers that dogs face running loose. After five days of being on the leash all day and being loosed in the night, this dog run off and refused to be leashed again. Two days later it was dead in the street and run over by a car.
The grace of God is a leash that holds us together and away from the chaos of the world. The devil is devising many ways to steal, kill and destroy. The grace of God is what keeps us away from those devises of the devil. The law of God keeps you from the traps of the devil. Grace doesn’t tell you to go do drugs. Grace says to you that drugs is not your portion because God is keeping you away from the many troubles that drug users face.
The devil claims that grace gives you a free ride yet he has simply hidden the price tag. When you start the journey you begin to realise that you have a high price to pay. Grace keeps you from the hidden dangers that the devil is setting up against you. So next time someone tells you that you can do something wrong because of grace, simply tell them, grace is not a license but a leash.
SCRIPTURE READING: Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh Lord! Am zealous for good works because of your grace. Am free from drugs because of your grace. I live a life of divine health because of your grace. Am grateful for your grace, Hallelujah!
