Daily Devotion

There are many things that try to hold you in bondage and restriction. I am talking about sin that doesn’t allow you to become what God has intended for you to become. It limits your movement, accomplishments and potential. You find yourself in a perpetual rat race of falling short and never growing out of certain situation. Grace comes to liberate you.

The grace of God empowers you to be free from the bondages that try to hold you back. After years of walking in grace you begin to realise that the things that held you back have no more power over you. The sin that kept you down and out has no more power over you because grace liberates you. Grace makes you better not worse. You don’t have to keep failing at the same place in the same way. Grace is the power of God to liberate you from the power of sin, sickness and poverty. The same way you see the grace of God as He takes you from poverty to prosperity, is the same way you overcome the sin that tries to hold you back.

SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 6:1-6 what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be [in the likeness] of [His] resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [Him,] that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Loving father, your grace abounds in my weaknesses. Teach me to embrace this understanding that it’s not by might nor by power but by Your spirit. Today I choose to walk in this grace in Jesus’ name. Amen
