There was a time I couldn’t speak in public. I was timid, shy and reserved. I felt the burning desire to preach the word of God yet I felt incapable and powerless. I began to pray to God and seek His grace to preach. After one week of prayer, I was invited to preach somewhere. This was a clear sign that God was going to empower me. By faith I prepared my sermon, wrote some notes and went to preach. When I stood up on the pulpit, I couldn’t find my notes, in fear and desperation I cried out for the Lord to give me the words to speak. God told me to simply open my mouth and He would fill it with words. I suddenly watched God take over my mouth and speak through me. I don’t know what I was saying but after fifteen minutes, over fifty young people gave their lives to the Lord in tears and great conviction. Now that is grace!
The grace of God comes to empower you to do the things you couldn’t do. Show me grace by showing me the things that were previously impossible but are now more than possible. Things thought out of reach but now you can touch and release. Grace is the empowering of God for you to do and become. Grace is not a sleeping pill but an energy boost that gets you going beyond your limits and capacity to will and to do the fathers good pleasure.
