GENERATIONAL BLESSING

Dog breeders have learnt through the process of time to raise a particular breed of dog. They carefully select the desirable traits and amplify these traits through generations of breading till they attain the objective. Bear in mind that a dog starts breading at about nine months and is capable of bearing fruit every three months. So you can imagine what they can do in five years of breeding.

God is generational in working with men. That is why He is glad to be called the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What he was doing in Jacob was started in Abraham. What He is doing in your life today is connected to what He did one hundred years ago and also connected to what He has planned for your great grandchildren. The blessing of God is perpetuated from one generation to another.

Stop looking with the short-sightedness of where you are. Lift your eyes to begin seeing things from the perspective of God. Your life is not isolated but part of a big plan that covers far beyond the place you find yourself. Don’t act in isolation. Begin to comprehend that you are part of something bigger than yourself and begin to do things that fit into the big picture God has for you.

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalms 16:1-6 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. [O my soul,] you have said to the LORD, “You [are] my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” As for the saints who [are] on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten [after] another [god;] Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips. O LORD, [You are] the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant [places;] Yes, I have a good inheritance.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Loving Father, I put my trust in You. Am grateful for being my Lord and goodness. You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup. Thank-you for maintaining my lot in Jesus’name. Amen
