To walk by the Spirit is to walk with God; you are walking with God when you are being led by the Spirit of God.
Christ’s relationship with the Holy Spirit is the perfect example for us, of the kind of relationship God expects us to have with the Holy Spirit. If you want to know how to walk with God, look no further than how Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit walked with each other. The way Christ walked with the Spirit is exactly how we are to walk.
Every stage of Christ’s life, and ministry was governed by the Holy Spirit. There’s no point in Christ’s life where the Holy Spirit wasn’t present, and actively involved; the Holy Spirit actively shaped Christ’s character, and influenced His life choices. Christ’s devotion to God; His obedience to His heavenly Father wouldn’t have been possible without the active help of the Holy Spirit. Everything God did in Christ’s life, He did by the Spirit. The only way God could have worked in Christ’s life was through the Holy Spirit. In other words, just as Jesus Christ needed the Holy Spirit to fulfill His destiny, so does every Child of God today.
SCRIPTURE READING: Galatians 5:25
“If we live by the Holy Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.”
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I’m grateful because He continues to live in me, and to teach and show me Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen
