The Holy Spirit was sent to us as believers to be with us and strengthen us through our Christian Walk. He literally is with us all the time as believers. But how often do we forget that reality? It means we have a friend by our side who has a lot of wisdom and ability but we are not making use of His wisdom and ability. Many Christians live what can be called a compartmentalized Christianity. They say this is my spiritual life and that is my natural: in reality carnal life. Yet it’s meant to be one life lived to the glory of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Benefiting from the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives begins by learning to fellowship with Him. This involves talking to Him as you also listen to Him. Relationships are built through communication. Very much so even this relationship with the Holy Spirit. Develop the practice of talking to the Holy Spirit as you also expect Him to do the same to you.
SCRIPTURE READING: John 16:7 However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit as an ever present Companion. Teach me to fellowship with Your Spirit as I continue my Christian Walk in Jesus Name, Amen.
