Poverty is the root cause of many social evils. It is also important to note that though poverty includes the lack of the basic necessities of life, it is more than just the lack of money. If money was the only answer to the problem of poverty in developing countries, many of the people in these countries would have already transitioned from poverty to prosperity after decades of donor aid or money being poured into these countries. Unfortunately this is not the case. Many of the people in these countries are living from hand to mouth after squandering the donor aid that had been given to them. As much as practical solutions to the issue of poverty are very necessary, it is important to note that the issue of poverty is first a spiritual problem. Spiritual problems need spiritual solutions. One of the issues that Jesus came to deal with was the issue of poverty. Now every child of God can stand boldly and kick poverty out of their lives as they believe in the finished work of Jesus as well as obey God’s Word concerning Kingdom Prosperity.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
Heavenly Father, Thank you for delivering me from the spirit of poverty. I receive and walk in the prosperity that you gave me through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
