Ehud was a strategic leader that came up with a long term plan. Israel was ruled by the Amonites with the nasty Eglon as their king. Ehud a left handed man came up with a long term strategic plan to kill the king and take the nation back to God. It took several years of planning, working, waiting and preparation. He learned how to forge an effective weapon, worked his way into favour with the king, waited for the right season to execute him, and then walked out of the palace like he had done many times. Before security could realise what had happened, Ehud had returned with an army and took power setting up Israel for a season of peace and prosperity. This lasted for a good eighty years as Israel thrived as a nation thanks to a strategic approach.
Being strategic gives you so many advantages that guarantee success. Haphazard operations end up being hazardous. Long term success is not a coincidence but the result of careful prayer, planning, strategizing and execution. Think through your options and come up with a strategy you can follow. Don’t just act in the heat of the moment. Carefully consider the options at hand and creatively rearrange the pieces you have to maximise the results you require. It will take patience and endurance but if you are strategic, your success will last many generations. As a left handed leader, you can’t do without a strategy.
