Our modern lives are clogged with so much to do. Something seems to demand your attention at all times and there is no limit to the things that require your time. Entertainment, communication, sports, meetings, work, business, the internet, social media, motor traffic and the list never ends. There is always something to do that we wonder if ever we could find an extra hour of time each day. Many well-meaning people never find the time to pray and wait upon the Lord because there is just no time.
One of the few things we have an equal amount of as people, is time. The good and the bad all have 24 hours each day. We all must learn to properly manage our time by carefully dedicating time to the things and people that matter in our lives. Refuse to be caught up running from one thing to another without proper consideration of the value those things bring to you. Carefully decide what you are going to dedicate your time to understanding its value for you.
Make time to wait upon the Lord. Refuse to become too busy to pray. Make time to go into your secret place with the Lord on a regular basis. Don’t just keep running after all the wonderful things available out there. Pull the brakes and jump out of the chase. Curve time out of your daily 24 hours and dedicate it to God in the secret place. Daily, weekly, monthly and annual chunks of time dedicated to the secret place will give you outstanding results.
SCRIPTURE READING: Ephesians 5:15-17 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly father, teach me to make time for prayer. May I dedicate my time for You in the secret place. Amen
