“The day you stop learning is the day your start dying.” Those were the words of my father in response to why he always sought to learn. As ministers, salt and light to the world, all Christians ought to continue learning on a regular basis so as to grow in ministry. Refuse to be so full of yourself that you stop learning. God has a new lesson that will enrich and bless you each day and season of your life.
What are the areas you need to grow? What are the things you need to learn? Who are the teachers and mentors you draw from? What is your prayer for growth today? You should never feel like you have arrived and there is nothing new for you to learn. An open heart and mind will enrich you without end. A closed and staffed mindset will set you up for failure in the place of your vain imagination. Perpetually press forward to grow in ministry and life by seeking to learn and grow through the different seasons of your life.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Tim 2:1-7 2 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of [this] life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, as a minister may I keep learning to grow in ministry. May I have an open mind towards Your teachings in Jesus’name. Amen
