We all enjoy a good meal that’s been well prepared and laid out with joy and happiness. Most good tasting meals have a secret ingredient that’s not so secret. Like open flame roasted chicken. In Uganda you will find such chicken roasting on the streets or highways. You can never have enough of it. The secret however is the salt. These cooks have mastered the art of applying salt to their roasts, you will be enchanted. Most cooked food will not taste good without salt because the salt enhances and releases its flavour. Without salt most meats will be terrible.
You are called as the salt of the world because you are an enhancer. God has given you the ability to make life better for others. You are the salt that makes the meat of life taste as a good as possible. As salt you can turn a funeral into a celebration. You can turn a prison into a college of transformation. The life, joy, strength and wisdom of God arrives as soon as you arrive. Your words, confidence, faith and prayer has the ability to change the place you are located. Make life better for all that come within your personal space. Deposit the life and grace of God into all you interact with. Refuse to be a negative taker of life. Become an enhancer like Joseph who transformed Potiphar’s house, the jail house, Pharaoh’s house and the nation of Egypt.
SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 38: 20-23, Genesis 41: 37-42 Genesis 38:1-6 It came to pass at that time that Judah departed from his brothers, and visited a certain Adullamite whose name [was] Hirah. And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite whose name [was] Shua, and he married her and went in to her. So she conceived and bore a son, and he called his name Er. She conceived again and bore a son, and she called his name Onan. And she conceived yet again and bore a son, and called his name Shelah. He was at Chezib when she bore him. Then Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and her name [was] Tamar.
