One of my favourite restaurant will serve you a bowl of nuts with your drink order. The nuts come free of charge and they are usually very salty. Recently they started adding chilly to those salty nuts and that’s when I figured out their trick. The salt in the nuts makes you thirstier so you can order more drinks. Now, the chilly salty nuts will make you go nuts for more drinks.

As a child of God and the salt of the world, you ought to stir up a desire inside those that interact with you. They ought to notice, admire and desire whatever you are like and whatever you have. The world should desire the Christ they see in your life. The diverse season of life you go through should reveal the grace of God upon your life that people will want to have what you have. The more they see the more they should desire. I don’t expect them to like you but at the end of the day they should wish they were closer to who you are. They will listen to your words as they see your life showing the life of God especially in those valleys of life.

SCRIPTURE READING: Acts 8:14-24 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh Lord, as I continue to stir others into Your presence, may they admire You more. May their eyes see Christ above all, amen.
