Daily Devotion

Salt attracts moisture that’s in the atmosphere. Many disciplines use that principle in dealing with various challenges. Once moisture or water gets into contact with salt, it is absorbed into the salt. That is why you are encouraged to watch your salt intake. The salt stays in your body and before you know it, the fluids in your body are being retained more than required creating a terrible in-balance where diverse disease can flourish. The salt not only attracts but retains and absorbs water.

As the salt of the world, your ultimate purpose is to not only stir up desire, attract many but to eventually absorb those that you interact with into the kingdom of God. The eternal purpose of your life is not to eat and drink all you can. You are still here on the earth as an agent of the kingdom of God that will attract and assimilate your peers into the kingdom. You don’t have to know everything, simply point your sphere of influence to the kingdom of God.

Every day is an opportunity to share the grace and love of God with others. Point those you interact with to your God and your local church. If they have questions you can’t answer, simply bring them to church and God will deal with them. Refuse to go a week without bringing at least one individual to the Lord and the local church. Are you with the sick, struggling, broke, complaining or confused? Bring them to Jesus. Those that speak to you have opened a door for you to bring them to the Lord and the church. Seize every opportunity for the kingdom of God.

SCRIPTURE READING: Mathew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all [who are] in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, teach me to absorb others into your kingdom. As an agent of the kingdom, may I continue to assimilate my peers into the knowledge of God, Amen
