Daily Devotion

God is not dead as some secular writers have proposed. He is alive and hard at work in the lives of His people and around the world today. Many question the goodness of God and His presence in the midst of a troubled world. They want to think that if God was working then all challenges would be solved and the world would be without sickness, hunger, poverty and death. Yet God is at work in the sickness and the poverty. Through the diverse seasons of life, the hand of God is real and present.

For you the believer, the work of God in your life is not only more obvious but also a must. Your life is connected to a loving God who He has been working overtime and all the time in you. Yes, you do have some challenges, trials, temptations and testimonies because through it all, the hand of God is at work in you. So don’t get worked up about the speed of things of the results you are getting. Have confidence in the ongoing work of God in your life. It is only a matter of time and that work will be perfected in your life.

SCRIPTURE READING: Philippians 1:2-6 Grace (favor and blessing) to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). I thank my God in all my remembrance of you. In every prayer of mine I always make my entreaty and petition for you all with joy (delight). [I thank my God] for your fellowship (your sympathetic cooperation and contributions and partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you heard it] until now. And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, I believe that Your hand is at work in my life. I am convinced and sure that You who began this good work in me will continue to perfect and bring it to full completion, Amen.
