Many times we behave like teenagers and treat God like an overbearing father. Transitioning into adulthood can be challenging and exciting at the same time. Your body changes and all these hormones start raging inside. Your mind seems to focus a few things at a time and totally refuses to open up to other possibilities. You then start a running battle with your parents proving to them that you are now an adult and they should leave you alone because you know what you are doing. All their instructions are considered declarations of war and you do everything you power to do the opposite of what they say. Every father wants what is best for the teenage child and all they do is to facilitate them for their future. That teenager therefore needs to stop opposing and start cooperating with their father.
All that God says to you is for your good. He has your best interests at heart. God wants to shield, protect, prepare and position you for your destiny. You must therefore cooperate with God so His work inside you is done as quick and as efficient as possible. God is working to bless you so you can be set up for the rest of your life. He is also interested in your grandchildren. Don’t fight God and don’t think you know better than He does. Simply work with Him to fulfil your destiny. Do something that will align you to receive from the Lord. Don’t undermine what God is doing by walking off on your own to do your little thing. Surrender to God and do His good pleasure for your life. There is no use fighting the wind. Simply surrender to it and you will harness its power.
SCRIPTURE READING: John 4:31-34 Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him saying, Rabbi, eat something. But He assured them, I have food (nourishment) to eat of which you know nothing and have no idea. So the disciples said one to another, Has someone brought Him something to eat? Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, teach me to surrender to your will. I believe that you are doing great things in me. May I cooperate with You in all situations. Amen
