Moses and the children of Israel left Egypt because God was with them. The Egyptians didn’t want to let them go being their slaves for hundreds of years, but the power and presence of God did great and terrible things to the Egyptians that they just couldn’t stand God any more. They sent out the Israelites in a hurry because the presence of God was too much for them. The nations of Canaan couldn’t resist Israel because the presence of God came before them. The fear of God caused even the greatest of the nations to crumble in fear as the presence of God went before His people. Meanwhile, that same presence of God that caused fear and panic among the heathen is what gave confidence and strength to the Israelites. They knew beyond any doubt that they could do anything and face anyone as long as God was with them.

Take courage in the fact that God is with you. He promised to be with you always even to the end of the ages. He promised never to leave you nor forsake you. Through your valleys and your challenges, He is right there with you to strengthen and protect you. He will bring you to the mountain top and give you a large place. He will lay a table for you in the presence of your enemies. Don’t worry about the many things you have to face today or tomorrow. God is with you.

SCRIPTURE READING: 1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for your presence in me. I boldly face my challenges today knowing I overcome in you. I decree and declare victory in my health, finances, family and everything in Jesus’s name, Amen.
