Jesus was in the boat with His disciples crossing to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, when a storm came out of the blue and begun to beat upon their boat. The disciples fought hard and brave but the wind was too strong and they just couldn’t keep the water out of the boat. All along Jesus was taking a nap in that storm beaten boat. Exhausted, confused and overwhelmed, his disciples woke him up complaining that He was unmoved in such a dire situation. Yawning as He woke up from His afternoon nap, Jesus lazily rebuked the storm and within minutes the sea was as calm as a well fed baby. Obviously the disciples were amazed at the power of God displayed, yet Bible scholars are amazed at the fact that the disciples had ignored Jesus all through their storm.

God will not force His way among men. If you ignore the Jesus you have, then the storm will be yours to deal with. Let us remember that we have Jesus with us every day to help and work with us in every situation. Don’t ignore the Lord because you are an able bodied man that is capable of doing all you want to do with yourself. In the storm or in the calm, remember the Lord is with you and He can do glorious things through you in every situation. Don’t allow the Jesus in you to take a nap. Keep Him busy working with you through every situation. I know you have what it takes to get results. Don’t forget to involve the Lord in all your doings.

SCRIPTURE READING: Mark 4:35-41 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How [is it] that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly father,I invite you to work wonders in my life, in every situation where I was letting you take a nap. Lord fight for me, work with me that I may be amazed at your power and glorify your holy name. Amen.
