A lord is someone with authority and dominion over others. They become master, chief or even boss if you may. Every nation has a Lord over it in the name of president or prime minister or king or queen. These Lords exercise authority over others enforcing laws, providing services and dictating the future of their nations. One such lord was Ghadaffi in Libya that ruled his nation with an iron hand for decades without end. At a famous African Union meeting, he declared himself Lord of Lord’s and King of King’s. As we all recall he met his end on the streets of Sirte beaten to death by a mob of youth. He was a lord no doubt but never the lord or lords. That title is reserved only for Jesus.
So I give you Jesus the Lord of lords. He comes before all and will be after all. As lord it means you submit yourself to His authority and guidance. You don’t live life for yourself at your terms but submit all that you are to your Lord and let Him take charge. He is a gentle Lord that will not overbear, beat or demand that you submit to Him. But make no mistake, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. You might as well get used to the idea and start practicing submission to your Lord Jesus today. Give Jesus lordship over your finances, your time, your, decisions, your day and even your friendships. Don’t do life at the terms of man alone. Accept the terms of God and together, you will do extra ordinary things.
SCRIPTURE READING: Revelation 17:14 They will wage war against the Lamb (Christ), and the Lamb will triumph and conquer them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him and on His side are the called and chosen (elect) and faithful.”
DEVOTION PRAYER: Thank you Jesus for your love for me, I accept your lordship over me. I submit myself to you so you can use me and lead me in the paths of righteousness. Amen.
