There was group of young boys who committed an unexpected murder. Like all creative boys these ones were master pranksters. On this particular day, they blind folded the youngest among them and tied him up hands and feet. They then proceeded to carry him onto a nearby railway track and fastened him onto the track. When the hard work finished they begun to tell him how this was his last day on earth as an approaching train was going to crash him to death. His cries for mercy only worsened the taunts. As the train approached, the victim could hear the rumbling engine, the vibrations and the warning horn. There was no doubt in his mind, this was a real train that was just about to crash him to death. As the train passed by, the young man died because he honestly believed that he was on the same railway track as the approaching train. His mean friends however had placed him on a nearby track on the actual one with the train. Fear had killed this young man not the train.
You must overcome fear in order to possess the land. Fear brings paralysis while faith liberates and empowers. Yes you can do all things through Christ that strengthen you, therefore you should drive fear from your heart. As you reach towards the vision in your heart, remember to refuse the spirit of fear. It will try to creep into your heart but you should vehemently defy anything that brings fear to you. When God told Joshua to go possess the land, He repeatedly told him not to be afraid of anything. Same goes for you today. Refuse to live in fear and choose to live by faith.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh Lord, every time I read Your word, am reminded of the boldness I possess as Your child. I live by faith in Jesus name.
