Daily Devotion

When the purpose of something isn’t clear, it often succumbs to abuse. This is very true about the blessings of God. Some people believe that if they are poor they will easily live a holy life. Others think if they prosper in life they will easily fall into temptation. These are all myths that have been perpetrated over generations and even taught in some congregations but have no place in God’s Word. God has no problem with His children prospering or receiving material possessions. His concern is about His children being blinded by the blessings He gives them or not understanding the purpose for His blessing them. The primary reason why God blesses us as His children is to use us to support the expansion of His kingdom. Arm yourself with that attitude of being Kingdom focused because when you do there is not level to which God will turn loose His blessings into your life.

SCRIPTURE READING: Deuteronomy 8:17-18And beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. But you shall earnestly remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I Pray that you will give me understanding of the purpose for the blessings you are sending into my life so that they are used to expand your Kingdom in Jesus Name, Amen.
